Wonder Woman: 1984 Is Officially Rated PG-13

Prior to the novel coronavirus pandemic, Wonder Woman 1984 would have been in theaters in just over a month. And while no one knows for sure when cinemas will reopen across the country, Warner Bros. is still getting ready for Wonder Woman‘s big screen encore. Via Film Ratings, Wonder Woman 1984 has landed a PG-13 rating for action and violence.

The rating in of itself is not a surprise.  Almost of the previous DC Extended Universe films were PG-13, including the original Wonder Woman.

Recently, Warner Bros. Pictures also felt the need to shoot down reports that Wonder Woman 1984 could skip theaters. But since the studio decided to release Scoob direct-to-digital, Warner Bros. had to reconfirm to The Hollywood Reporter that both Tenent and Wonder Woman 1984 will come out this summer.

“We are committed to — and are excited about — releasing Tenet in theaters this summer or whenever theaters reopen,” said Warner Bros. CEO Ann Sarnoff in a statement. “We remain supportive of the theatrical experience and our exhibition partners, and are confident that our tentpole titles, including Tenet and Wonder Woman 1984, are exactly the type of films that will have people eager to return to theaters.”

Wonder Woman 1984 will hit theaters on Friday, August 14, assuming no further delays.
