Alfred Wants No More Violence, in New Pennyworth Promo
After years of violence in service to the Queen, Alfred Pennyworth now wants to live a peaceful life. Check out the newly released promo teaser for Epix’s upcoming Batman prequel series in the player below!
Pennyworth stars Jack Bannon (The Imitation Game, Medici) as Alfred Pennyworth and Ben Aldridge (Fleabag) as Thomas Wayne. Additionally, it features Ryan Fletcher as Dave Boy, Hainsley Lloyd Bennett as Bazza, Paloma Faith as Bet Sykes, Jason Flemyng (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) as Lord Harwood and Polly Walker as Peggy Sykes.
The series follows Alfred Pennyworth, a former British SAS soldier in his 20s. He forms a security company and goes to work with young billionaire Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge), who’s not yet Bruce’s father.
Alfred appears a boyishly handsome, cheerful, charming, clever young man from London. You would never take him for an SAS killer, thanks to his honest, open-faced, and witty demeanor. Alfred doesn’t know how to reconcile the kind-hearted boy he used to be with the cold, calculated killer the military forced him to become, and therefore he doesn’t know what to make of himself yet.
Pennyworth comes from executive producer and writer Bruno Heller (Gotham, The Mentalist, Rome) and Danny Cannon (Gotham, CSI), who will also direct.
The 10-episode, one-hour drama series is based on DC characters created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger. Production on the Warner Horizon Scripted Television series began last October at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the UK. The series will arrive on Epix on July 28.
