Variety brings word that another hero will be joining the ranks of Arrow Season 5, but this one we’ve actually seen before. The outlet reports that Madison McLaughlin, who played the Black Canary impersonator Evelyn Sharp in the series, will be suiting up as the young archer. The actress is set to appear in a multi-episode arc starting with episode 5.02, but it remains to be seen if her version of Artemis will be fighting for good or evil.
In the source material, Artemis was the daughter of Golden Age comic book villains Tigress and Sportsmaster and would follow in her parents’ footsteps as a super villain. Most fans may know her best from the animated series Young Justice, in which she was a heroic member of the team but still retained her dark past.
The cast for Arrow Season 5 continues to grow as McLaughlin joins newcomers Rick Gonzalez (Rush, Mr. Robot) as Wild Dog and Josh Segarra as Vigilante.
Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, John Barrowman as Malcom Merlyn, with Paul Blackthorne as Detective Lance.
