Spider-Man’s Tom Holland Reveals How New MCU Costume Fixed Its Big Vomit Problem

Tom Holland has finally fixed his big vomit issue with his Spider-Man costume. Playing Peter Parker for almost 10 years now, the 30-year-old has become a fan favorite. But during previous shoots, Holland had to endure an extremely uncomfortable situation.

The tight-fitted Spider-Man suit made it hard for Holland to breathe. Appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Josh Horowitz pulled up a 2019 interview with Jacob Batalon and Zendaya.

Both of Holland’s co-stars shared their concerns about how the actor was performing his stunts as Spider-Man from inside the tight-fitted suit. They even feared that the British actor might actually choke in case he became sick. Zendaya said during the earlier interview, “Please, I hope he never gets sick, oh my God.”

Thankfully, Holland delivered some good news for his fans. Acknowledging that the vomit issue was a real concern, the actor revealed that the suit has now been redesigned.

“But now in the new suit, having worked with Tobey [Maguire] and Andrew [Garfield], and seeing the amount of engineering that went into their comfortability, I have a zip at the back of my head, which allows me to take the mask off to breathe.”

What Tom Holland has said about bringing the black suit to the MCU

Speaking about suits, one of the most-discussed ones among fans is the symbiote suit of Spider-Man. While Tobey Maguire donned the iconic black suit in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3, Holland has yet to wear it in live-action.

Following the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the British actor did touch upon the issue. In the same interview with Horowitz, the BAFTA Award winner tried to explain why the black suit hasn’t featured in the MCU yet.

Citing the high expectations that Insomniac’s video games have set, Holland stated, “I love the black suit in Tobey’s movie. I think that’s really cool. I think if we ever got to do a black suit in Spider-Man, I don’t know how we would tackle that challenge because they did it so well in the game, right?”

A potential crossover between Venom and Spider-Man has been teased multiple times in the MCU. The post-credits of Venom: Let There Be Carnage showed Eddie and Venom looking at Tom Holland’s Spider-Man on a television. Next up, Spider-Man: No Way Home had a post-credits shot where a part of the black symbiote was left behind in the MCU.
