Stranger Things’ Joe Keery Joining MCU Gets Exciting Update

Earlier this month, rumors about Stranger Things vet Joe Keery‘s potential MCU casting surfaced online, with some fans speculating that he might be playing Harry Osborn in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Now, we finally have an intriguing new update regarding the Free Guy actor’s rumored talks with Marvel Studios.

What’s the new MCU update about Stranger Things star Joe Keery?

In response to a rumor about Keery playing Harry Osborn in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, insider Daniel Richtman claimed that the “End of Beginning” singer is actually being eyed for a different role in the MCU. Besides Harry Osborn, popular fan castings of Keery include Nova and Scott Summers/Cyclops. Should Keery’s casting be confirmed, this would possibly reunite him with his Stranger Things co-star Sadie Sink, whose MCU character remains a mystery.

The scooper also teased that Ahsoka star Eman Esfandi might have already been the one tapped for the Spider-Man 4 role, which was previously described as MJ’s new boyfriend. Harry Osborn was previously played by James Franco in the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy, and by Dane DeHaan in the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies.

Set to debut on July 31, 2026, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The movie will feature the return of Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emmy winner Zendaya as MJ, and Jacob Batalon as Ned, with Avengers vet Mark Ruffalo. Joining them are Sink, Jon Bernthal (Daredevil: Born Again) as Frank Castle/Punisher, Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear) as Cathy, Michael Mando (Better Call Saul) as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, Marvin Jones III (Black Lightning) as Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone, and Tramell Tillman (Severance). A previous rumor suggested that Tillman might be playing the new head of the Department of Damage Control.
