Brad Pitt may be in talks to join the cast of The Batman 2, according to a new rumor.
DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures’ The Batman 2, also known as The Batman: Part II or The Batman: Part 2, will be released in United States theaters in 2027. Directed by Matt Reeves, the sequel to 2022’s The Batman will see Robert Pattinson reprise his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman.
What do we know about the Batman 2 Brad Pitt rumor?
As reported on by World of Reel, a rumor is circulating that Brad Pitt may be in talks to play a villain in The Batman 2. According to the outlet, Reeves “is in the middle of casting two middle-aged male roles, said to be antagonists,” and “Pitt is being sought for one of the roles.”
It’s important to emphasize that this is only a rumor at this time. No official announcement regarding Pitt’s casting in The Batman 2 has been made.
Having said that, Reeves recently mentioned that he was talking to Pitt’s production company Plan B Entertainment while gearing up for the production of The Batman 2. He said in September, via The Hollywood Reporter, “We’re starting to gear up, and we’re talking about different crew people for the movie and everything. I was talking to some of the people at Plan B, and I was telling them how blown away I was by Adolescence, which I just think that show really got to me. That was really effective.”
It is known that Scarlett Johansson will be starring in The Batman 2, though it’s unclear who she’s playing at this time. Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis, and Jeffrey Wright are all expected to return as The Penguin/Oz Cobb, Alfred Pennyworth, and Commissioner Gordon; however, Zoë Kravitz’s Catwoman/Selina Style is not expected to return.
The Batman: Part II will be released in United States theaters on October 1, 2027.
