A new Midnight Sons rumor has surfaced online, teasing the possible appearance of one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s newest villains. This comes after it was previously reported that Marvel Studios may have already hired the writer, who’s going to pen the screenplay for its long-rumored project.
Who will potentially appear in the Midnight Sons movie?
According to insider Daniel Richtman, Marvel Studios’ Midnight Sons movie will reportedly include Sacha Baron Cohen’s villainous Mephisto. Prior to the character’s surprising live-action debut in the Ironheart series, fans have long speculated about his possible role in the MCU, which started with the premiere of WandaVision. In the comics, he was best known as a recurring adversary to Ghost Rider and Spider-Man.

Further details about its potential plot are still being kept under wraps, but a recent rumor suggested that the studio might be planning to make Ghost Rider as the titular team’s leader. The character was originally played by Oscar-winning actor Nicolas Cage in Sony Pictures’ live-action Ghost Rider movies. Recently, a Samurai variant of the character appeared in the series finale of the Disney+ animated series What If…? for a brief non-speaking appearance.
The original comic book series centered around a team of supernatural heroes consisting of Ghost Rider, Blade, Moon Knight, Elsa Bloodstone, Doctor Strange, and more. Since the Marvel Cinematic Universe started its Multiversal saga, Marvel Studios has begun exploring the horror genre with the Disney+ release of Moon Knight, Werewolf By Night, and Agatha All Along. However, the studio hasn’t really made any official announcements regarding their plans on what to expect from the MCU’s supernatural side.
