Spider-Man 4 Casting Update Hints at 2 Main Villains

Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are reportedly enlisting two actors to portray the main villains of the upcoming Spider-Man 4 movie. The latest installment to the Tom Holland-led Marvel franchise is slated to arrive in theaters on July 31, 2026.

At the moment, it currently has no direct competition at the box office. However, the movie will still be debuting in the same month as other high-profile movies like the live-action Moana and Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey movie.

What was the Spider-Man 4 casting update?

According to Marvel insider DanielRPK, the studio are reportedly eyeing male and female actors to portray the main villains for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Major casting news is expected to be revealed soon, as Marvel Studios has already made offers to the potential actors who they’ve chosen for the roles. Prior to this report, Oscar winner Nicole Kidman was rumored to be joining Holland in the upcoming movie for an unknown role, along with Marvel vet Mark Ruffalo who will reportedly reprise his role as the Hulk/Bruce Banner.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The movie will be once again be led by Tom Holland as he reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Emmy winner Zendaya and Jacob Batalo are also expected to return for the sequel. They will be joined by recently announced new cast members Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) and Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear). The movie is produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, and Avi Arad.
