Avengers: Doomsday is rumored to be a massive film, and according to a new rumor, could contain a number of different teams, including one we’ve yet to see on the screen.
What is the status of the Young Avengers in the MCU?
According to a recent question and answer post from Alex Perez on The Cosmic Circus, a question was asked about whether or not the Young Avengers would possibly appear in Doomsday. Perez was short in his reply, but said that that was the plan.
While Perez didn’t specify who would be a part of the team, the question did ask about the inclusion of Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), and American Chavez (Xochitl Gomez).
The status of the Young Avengers has been something MCU fans have been hoping to see for some time. The group’s roster has seemingly slowly been built up across a variety of other movies, but no official mention of them has been made. As for now, fans will have to wait to see whether or not the group will appear in Doomsday.
The Q&A section also featured a question about whether or not Marvel has plans to potentially include any shows in its pipeline ahead of Avengers: Secret Wars, specifically a Champions show. Perez said that it’s possible that a Champions ship (based on the Young Avengers), or even a Wiccan show centered around the character, could be in the pipeline, but it’s unclear as of now.
