Daredevil in the Avengers or Spider-Man 4 Is ‘More Possible Than It’s Ever Been,’ Claims Charlie Cox

Daredevil: Born Again star Charlie Cox recently explained why he would love to see The Man Without Fear make the jump to the big screen.

While Daredevil did appear in a self-titled film portrayed by Ben Affleck, Cox’s Man Without Fear has only ever been seen on the small screen, with the actor’s cameo in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home featuring just the hero’s civilian alter ego of lawyer Matt Murdock. Cox has played the role of Matt Murdock/Daredevil since 2015, appearing in Netflix’s Daredevil and The Defenders and the Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Echo, and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

The actor will next be seen as the character in Daredevil: Born Again, an upcoming Disney+ continuation of Netflix’s Daredevil series. While Cox’s first starring role as Daredevil since being brought back as the character in 2021 is in the form of a TV show, the actor told GQ during a recent interview that he thinks “it’s more possible than it’s ever been” for the blind vigilante to play a major role in upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movies.

“I would love to be in one of the Avengers films, or another Spider-Man, or something like that. For a couple of reasons. One, because over the years I have become a geeky fan of the character, and I weirdly, for the character’s sake, feel like it’d be really cool for him to get that kind of upgrade,” he explained, before revealing that the second reason is that it would likely improve his “chances of getting other movie roles.”

While Cox has been rumored for both Avengers: Doomsday and Spider-Man 4, his casting remains unconfirmed by Marvel Studios at this time. So far, the only cast members officially confirmed for Doomsday are Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom and the cast of The Fantastic Four, while Tom Holland is the only actor who has signed on for the next Spider-Man, although Zendaya is expected to appear in a minor role as MJ.

Daredevil: Born Again premieres on Disney+ on March 4, as part of Phase 5 of the MCU.
