A few days after his much-talked-about performance at the Super Bowl halftime show, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has his eye on bringing one of DC’s lesser-known superheroes to the big screen. Deadline is reporting that Jackson is developing a live-action film based on DC’s Xerø comic book series.
Writer Christopher Priest and artist ChrisCross launched Xerø in May 1997. The book took place 25 years in the future and introduced readers to Coltrane “Trane” Walker, a Black professional basketball player who also moonlighted as a technologically-enhanced “closer,” a government agent tasked with tying up loose ends in espionage missions. Walker could also use invisibility to disguise himself as a white man, which helped him infiltrate his targets’ whereabouts.
Xerø’s run in the DC Universe was short-lived—the series released its 12th and final issue in June 1998. Regardless, Jackson and his fellow producers intend to turn the property into a franchise.

“There’s no one better than Christopher Priest to bring G-Unit Film & Television into the world of comic book superheroes,” said Jackson. “Watch as we build Xerø into a franchise alongside Christopher and Color Farm Media. I can’t wait for the world to meet Trane Walker in an all new way.”
Jackson is producing Xerø through his G-Unit Film & Television banner. Color Farm’s Erika Alexander and Ben Arnon are also producing alongside Illuminious CEO Joseph Illidge.
“Xerø depicts a slow-moving car wreck at the intersection of race and class,” added Priest. “The commonality of struggle represented by the life experiences of Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson, G-Unit Film & Television and Color Farm assure a broad depth of first-hand appreciation for that delicate balance. It’s exciting to be working together to create this new world.”
