New Clips From The Suicide Squad Highlight Starro and Weasel

Who else but James Gunn could take the most docile-looking animals and turn them into unrepentant killing machines? As The Suicide Squad’s release date draws closer, Warner Bros. has just debuted a pair of new clips from the film, introducing viewers to the movie’s (literal) big-bad, Starro, along with one of Task Force X’s newest recruits, Weasel.

The first clip appears to take place at the start of the film’s climax and finds the team infiltrating a military base housing “Project Starfish,” the army’s codename for the gargantuan supervillain. Clearly, his stone prison was tax money well wasted, because Starro is able to free himself with relative ease. And his size is enough to render even Harley Quinn speechless. Check it out for yourself below.

In the second clip, we meet Weasel en route to a mission. Although his name is a dead giveaway, the other members of the team can’t seem to figure out what he is. As he yacks up a hairball, Blackguard asks if he’s some kind of dog, while Harley suggests he could be a werewolf. But before a panicked Blackguard can jump out of the plane, Rick Flag comes out to insist he’s harmless. However, he has amassed a pretty high body count for a furry critter…

The Suicide Squad hits theaters and HBO Max on August 6.
