The Boys Season 5 Trailer Hints at Crazy Homelander Compound V Theory

The Boys Season 5 trailer drops a tiny detail that has already set the fandom buzzing. It is a syringe spotted in a shot just before Homelander’s eyes explode into one of his most intense laser beams yet.

Fans think that Homelander has found a way to boost his powers with a new hit of Compound V. If so, the stakes for Butcher, Marie, and the rest of the resistance just went up a lot.

The Boys theory suggests Homelander will take special Compound V in Season 5

In The Boys season 5 trailer, there’s a moment where Homelander’s eye lasers fire like a massive, solid beam instead of the usual twin streams. Just as he powers up, viewers can spot what looks like a syringe on the ground in the top-left of the frame. One Redditor summed up the theory.

They wrote, “We see a syringe on the ground and then his laser looking insanely powerful. It looks like a full-on beam of light. I think this could maybe be some new form of V that Homelander uses to become even more powerful.”

That tiny prop has set off a whole rabbit hole. Fans are connecting it back to Season 4, where Homelander started freaking out over signs of aging. He could not get over the grey hair and kept checking it out. With that in mind, viewers think he might be turning to V-One, the original Compound V formula that gives near-immortality and huge power boosts.

Another commenter agreed and explained, “V1 seems to be the obvious answer, to stop aging and get a power up,” while another joked, “V1 would make so much sense for the guy constantly pulling out his grey pubes.”

Others are pitching even darker possibilities. One fan suggested he could “get OG V somewhere… maybe extract it from Soldier Boy’s blood or whatever.” Another pushed it further, theorizing, “If Ryan dies, he extracts his natural V-blood into himself, giving him a massive stat boost.”

However, it should be noted that this is merely a fan theory at this point.
