It has been one week since the premiere of Stranger Things Season 5, and as a result, many viewers believe that Volume 2 will be released tonight, on December 3, 2025. Following a Thanksgiving release, Netflix has already announced a release date for the next episodes. The schedule indicates that episodes will be released in three parts; however, they will not follow a weekly release pattern.
Is Netflix releasing Stranger Things Season 5 Vol 2 with new episodes tonight?
Unfortunately, Netflix will not be releasing Stranger Things Volume 2 tonight, on December 3, 2025. New episodes are scheduled to drop on December 25, 2025, which is Christmas Day. After that, the series finale will release on December 31, 2025. These are the official dates confirmed by the platform.
Volume 2 of Stranger Things Season 5 will feature three episodes. Here are the runtimes and names of each of them.
- Chapter Five: Shock Jock — about 1 hour 17 minutes
- Chapter Six: Escape from Camazotz — about 58 minutes
- Chapter Seven: The Bridge — about 1 hour 37 minutes
The finale, or Chapter Eight, is titled “The Right Side Up” and will have a runtime of two hours and one minute.
While discussing the upcoming episodes, the series creators, the Duffer brothers, claimed that they are not scaling back in any way. This means that the story will continue to escalate as the final episodes unfold.
The first volume ended with Will tapping into the hive mind and controlling the Demogorgons. These upside-down creatures went out hunting for their friends. Earlier, he was inspired by Robin’s story of taking charge of her own life and thus decided to do the same.
Viewers also saw a short montage of his childhood memories with Will and their journey together. He then killed the Demogorgons the same way Vecna killed his victims in the previous season.
However, Will’s sister Holly Wheeler and Max are still stuck with Henry in his memories, and it will be interesting to see how El, after meeting Number 8, takes charge of the fight that lies ahead.
