Peacemaker S0E02’s Beaker Easter Egg & Other DC References Explained

Curious about all the Easter eggs packed into Peacemaker Season 2, Episode 2, and how they tie into the wider DCU? As Chris Smith navigates new dangers under ARGUS surveillance and wrestles with his alternate self, the episode slips in comic callbacks, DCU canon confirmations, and pop culture nods that expand the universe’s connections.

Here’s a breakdown of every Easter egg and reference featured in Episode 2.

List of all major easter eggs in Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 2 with Beaker

Maxwell Lord’s Tech Drop

Chris Smith is shown using a phone manufactured by LordTech after hiding the body of his alternate self. LordTech is the company run by Maxwell Lord, who also funds the Justice Gang and was introduced in Peacemaker Season 2’s debut episode, confirming his ongoing role in the DCU.

Harcourt’s Beaker Insult

During a pharmacy confrontation, Emilia Harcourt calls a woman “Beaker.” Another customer agrees with the comparison, directly referencing the famous Muppets character, Beaker, the assistant to Dr. Bunsen Honeydew.

Gotham Gets Another Nod

Keeya reveals her intention to return to Gotham City with Adebayo, where the couple previously lived before the first season. Gotham was also referenced in James Gunn’s Superman and featured in Creature Commandos during Doctor Phosphorus’ origin flashbacks.

Psycho’s Norma Bates Parallel

Economos and Emilia joke that there’s a possibility that Vigilante may keep his dead mother’s corpse at home “Norma Bates style.” This is a reference to Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho, where Norman Bates preserved and spoke to the corpse of his mother.

11th St. Kids Live On

The group celebrates Economos’ return from Belle Reve and continues to call themselves the 11th St. Kids. The name, which comes from a Hanoi Rocks song, remains part of the DCU canon.

Coffee Chain Jitters

Keeya works at Jitters Coffee, a fictional chain originating in DC Comics. The café appeared in the Arrowverse’s Flash series and also appeared in Metropolis during Superman (2025).

Corto Maltese Fallout

Leota Adebayo gives a warning to Peacemaker that ARGUS head Rick Flag Sr. is targeting him. The dialogue confirms Chris killed Rick Flag Jr. in Corto Maltese during The Suicide Squad, linking back to the 2021 film.

Pokémon and Encino Man Gags

Agent Fleury mistakenly says Vigilante looks like he captured all the “Pokémen,” corrected by Economos on the plural of Pokémon. Fleury also uses “Encino Man” as a nickname for an operative, referencing Brendan Fraser’s film about a thawed caveman.
