Why Spider-Man Fans Think Jackie Chan Is in Brand New Day’s Cast

Spider-Man fans were recently speculating that Jackie Chan might appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The rumors began after the legendary action star revealed that he visited the Marvel set in London. However, while his name is connected to the production, the truth behind his involvement is different than what fans initially believed.

Is Jackie Chan in Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s cast?

In an interview with HK01.com, Jackie Chan explained that he wasn’t cast in Spider-Man: Brand New Day but visited because his stunt team is working on the movie. “My Jackie Chan Stunt Team was busy filming Spider-Man. And I was the action director for the Jackie Chan Stunt Team,” he said.

Chan added that his visit even surprised director Destin Daniel Cretton. “I went to watch their rehearsals, and the director was quite surprised to see me. I made sure he understood that they are part of my team.”

The excitement likely stems from Chan’s massive influence on action cinema. His unique choreography style and a side of humor with martial arts inspired generations of filmmakers, including Tom Holland. Speaking about Holland, Chan praised the Marvel star. He said, “I heard the young man paid tribute to my films in a lot of action scenes and has done stunts by himself.” With Holland known for performing his own stunts, it’s easy to see why fans assumed Chan’s presence on Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s set meant a cameo role.

Moreover, the upcoming Marvel film has already drawn attention for its ambitious action. Production began in August 2025, with scenes shot in Glasgow before moving to Pinewood Studios. Set photos have teased Spider-Man battling with a tank. Meanwhile, rumors point to appearances by Jon Bernthal’s Punisher and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set for release on July 31, 2026.
