Spider-Man 4 Rumor Is Huge News for Punisher Fans

A new rumor regarding Punisher’s role in Spider-Man 4 has emerged online.

Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man 4, also known as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is currently in production. Directed by Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ Destin Daniel Cretton, the film sees Tom Holland reprise his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, while Jon Bernthal is also returning to the MCU as Frank Castle/The Punisher.

What is the latest Spider-Man 4 rumor?

According to scooper Daniel Richtman, Bernthal’s Punisher will have the biggest role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day compared to the other supporting heroes who appear in the film.

This means that MCU fans can expect to see more scenes with Punisher in the new Spider-Man flick compared to Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk. There have also been reports that Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova will also show up, though that has not been officially confirmed as of yet.

Ritchman also reports that Holland is taking a “short break” from filming, while his stunt double will “continue filming action scenes with Scorpion and other villains.”

The cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day further includes Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, and Michael Mando as Marc Gargan/Scorpion, a character who hasn’t been seen since Spider-Man: Homecoming. Additionally, Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink, The Bear’s Liza Colón-Zayas, and Severance’s Trammel Tillman have been cast in undisclosed roles.

Official plot details for Spider-Man 4 remain under wraps at this time.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives in United States theaters on July 31, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU. That will be followed by Avengers: Doomsday on December 18, 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027. Another Marvel movie is scheduled to come out between Doomsday and Secret Wars, but there are currently no details available regarding that project.
