The Last of Us Season 2 ending prompted viewers to speculate about Dina’s fate in the show. Dina was technically at the scene when Abby attacked Tommy and killed Jesse with an abrupt gunshot. However, if the series follows the Last of Us II game’s plotline, Dina would not die at Abby’s hands.
In the game, Ellie urged Abby not to kill Dina, saying she was pregnant. Finally, it was Abby’s close friend Lev, who persuaded her to spare Dina’s life. So, the blank gunshot could be Abby aiming at Tommy or Ellie, as the latter was trying to persuade her not to kill anyone else but her.
Additionally, fans also believe that the gunshot at the end of season 2 can be ultimately exposed as Dina killing Abby. The WLF member did not know about Dina’s existence, and she was pointing a gun at Ellie, whom Dina treasures the most.
