Some Andor fans are wondering what happened to Erskin Semaj, the pragmatic aide to Mon Mothma, after the Season 2 finale. That’s a good question, because the former agent in Luthen’s spy network doesn’t appear in the last batch of episodes in the second season nor in the rousing ending sequence that concludes the series. As one of the major side characters that helps Cassian in escorting Mothma out of the Senate in Episode 9, Erskin is tougher than he looks. What happens to Erskin Semaj after the Andor Season 2 finale?
Erskin Semaj becomes a part of the Rebel Alliance and continues to be a faithful aid to Mon Mothma during and after the events in Andor.
The last time Erskin appears in Andor Season 2 is in Episode 9 where he and Mon Mothma reunite at Cassian’s old safehouse and apartment in Coruscant. Erskin and Kleya tell him that they have a ship, the Taylander shuttle Chandrila Mistress, ready to transport the senator off the planet, allowing Cassian to leave and return to the Yavin rebel base. This ship is guarded by Gold Squadron, who as part of Operation Handoff brings Mothma to Dantooine where she officially establishes the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
As shown in the canonical animated series Star Wars Rebels, specifically an episode called “Secret Cargo,” Erskin is a part of this dangerous operation. Due to several attacks on the rebel fleet by the Empire, he advises Mothma to abort the mission and flee back to her home planet on Chandrila, but she resolves to reach Dantooine.
Later in the show, Erskin is positioned as an intelligence officer of sorts in the Rebel Alliance. He informs resistance leaders of the Empire testing an upgraded version of the TIE/d Defender and attends a briefing between Mothma, Bail Organa, Syndulla, and General Dodonna.
