A new Lucifer movie poster featuring Tom Ellis is circulating online, making many question its credibility. Ellis had been loved for playing Lucifer in the Netflix series, which ended its run with Season 6 in 2021. The series was based on Neil Gaiman’s characters for DC Vertigo, where a servant in hell, tired of his duties, arrives on Earth to spend quality time among humans. While the series has ended, many still anticipate seeing Ellis in a similar role in a new project. So, is it finally happening? Here are the details.
Is the Lucifer: Devil’s Holiday movie poster for Netflix real or fake?
The Lucifer: Devil’s Holiday movie poster is fake.
A Facebook user shared an interesting poster featuring the names of Ellis and Freddie Fox in an unannounced movie, Lucifer: Devil’s Holiday. The caption mentioned the plot, claiming that the thriller movie takes place in London. It will focus on Lucifer embroiled in a “devious scavenger hunt” set by Fox’s Puck, and he must outsmart him to find the perilous mythical artifact. The page claims that the movie will drop in July 2025. Since the release of the poster, the post has generated significant views, likes, and shares. However, the poster is ultimately fake, and there’s no such movie announced by Netflix.
Will Tom Ellis return for a Lucifer sequel movie on Netflix?
At the moment, Ellis has not been announced to star in any Lucifer sequel movie for Netflix.
Currently, Ellis is involved in a new crime project within the vast FBI franchise, titled CIA. It features Ellis portraying a fast-talking and rule-breaking CIA officer. He will pair with a seasoned FBI agent who abides by the rules, working on numerous cases in and around New York City. CBS has scheduled it to debut during the 2025–2026 broadcast season. Other casting is currently underway.
