Marvel fans are speculating over which superheroes might appear in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 ever since the finale left the question wide open. In the last episode of the show’s first season, it becomes clear that the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen is going to need some help if he’s going to bring down Wilson Fisk, his wife, and his forces. This opens the door for heroes from other Marvel shows from Disney+ and Netflix, particularly from the fan-favorite Defenders series, to make their triumphant return. But which ones have the best chance of making a comeback when the second season returns in 2026? (Warning: Spoilers ahead!)

Which heroes might join Daredevil’s “army” in Born Again Season 2?
There are many heroes that have a chance of reappearing in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, in addition to Daredevil and Karen Page of course. We’ll rank these superheroes on their comebacks here from Very Likely, Likely, Possibly, and Likely Not.
Bullseye – Very Likely
Bullseye, otherwise known as Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter (Wilson Bethel), is actually the only superhero (or should we say, supervillain) that we absolutely know for sure will appear in the next season. This is by way of an official image taken from the film set for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. It’s clear that Matt Murdock has no desire to work with Poindexter after he was hired by Vanessa Fisk to kill Foggy, and he’s already slammed the merc’s face into a table multiple times. But given that Bullseye has already tried murdering Wilson Fisk, this might be a case of “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.”
The Punisher – Very Likely
This is a pretty obvious one as well, so we won’t linger on this too much. The only way Frank Castle doesn’t show up in Season 2 is if the showrunners plan on siloing him off in The Punisher special. However, he has quite a bone to pick with the corrupt cops in the city, and Karen Page just needs to give him a ring to get him to show up for Daredevil.
Swordsman – Very Likely
In the season one finale, Swordsman (or Jacques “Jack” Duquesne) is seen inside one of Wilson Fisk’s cages. From what we learn in the post-credits scene, The Punisher will almost assuredly make his way out of his own cage. Now, whether or not he will open the cages for everyone is up for debate, since doing that might jeopardize his safety. But we’ll willing to bet that he’s going to free some potential allies and that Swordsman will eventually become a part of the team.
White Tiger (Angela del Toro) – Likely
After the death of Hector Ayala, Matt Murdock essentially becomes a godparent for his daughter, Angela del Toro. As comic fans will know, she becomes the next iteration of The White Tiger, so seeing her become a superhero under his wing in Season 2 would make sense. All she needs is the amulet to be given superpowers, though she would still be a teenager and that might make Daredevil and the other adults on the team uncomfortable.
Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist – Possibly
Marvel’s head of streaming Brad Winderbaum told Entertainment Weekly that they are “very much exploring” bringing Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist back to the MCU. The first season of Daredevil: Born Again includes an easter egg for an ad of Luke Cage’s nightclub, Harlem’s Paradise, which would be a good setup for him to return. All three of these Defenders, if they are still in New York City, would be on the shortlist of who Daredevil would ask for help given their past. Introducing them back into the MCU here would be a good way to see them get their own seasons on Disney+ (or at least appear in another Defenders series).
Kate Bishop & Hawkeye – Possibly
If the rumors can be believed, Hailee Steinfeld will be reprising her role as Kate Bishop in the potential second season of Hawkeye, so we might see her wrapped up in what’s happening in New York City once more. She already has a history fighting off Kingpin in the Hawkeye season finale, and she has a connection with Swordsman with him having been her mother’s boyfriend. We’re not sure if she’s still in contact with Jack, but she would make a great long-range member of the team. Now, she could bring Hawkeye along for the ride too, but the Avenger might be too busy doing other things.
Echo – Possibly
On that note, Echo (or Maya Lopez) from the Hawkeye series has even more of a reason to take out Wilson Fisk. She literally shot the man, which surprisingly didn’t take him out, so she might come back to finish what she started. However, she might be trying to stay out of sight as much as possible, and we wouldn’t blame her for staying quiet.
Spider-Man – Not Likely
We’ve said it before, but until the rights for the superhero are finally ironed out between Marvel and Sony (if ever), we’re not going to see him around in Season 2 despite him being mentioned in the first season. For now, the best we might see of the friendly neighborhood hero will be a few seconds of CGI, if that is even permissible.
