In “Spider-Man 2,” Tobey Maguire returns as the mild-mannered Peter Parker, who is juggling the delicate balance of his dual life as a college student and a superhuman crime-fighter. His life as Spider-Man becomes even more complicated when he confronts a new nemesis, the diabolically brilliant Otto Octavius (played by Alfred Molina), who has been reincarnated as the maniacal and multi-tentacled “Doc Ock.” “Spider-Man 2” is directed by Sam Raimi and stars Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst.

Based on the classic Marvel Comics hero, “Spider-Man 2,” successor to 2002’s record-breaking “Spider-Man,” promises to be one of the major blockbuster hits of the year. The first “Spider-Man” film shattered numerous box office records. Opening over a three-day May frame with a record $114.8 million and total worldwide gross of $821,700,000, the film became the fastest movie to gross $100 million, $200 million, and $300 million and tied with “Titanic” as fastest to hit $400 million. “Spider-Man” also set records with the biggest weekend, biggest single day, and biggest opening day. Released in April 2002, Spider-Man (Music From and Inspired By), the album of music from the first “Spider-Man” film, debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200 bestselling albums chart, and became the #1 Top Soundtrack in America, selling more than 2 million copies worldwide.
