It’s been over 20 years since DC Comics and Marvel Comics allowed a crossover of their characters. Marvel took the field first, with their upcoming Deadpool/Batman book. Now, DC has confirmed an equally impressive lineup of characters, creators and covers for Batman/Deadpool #1.

The main story teaming the Dark Knight and Merc with a Mouth will be written by comics legend Grant Morrison. Famed for their definitive runs on Justice League and X-Men, Morrison is also known for co-creating the Damian Wayne Robin. Artist Dan Mora, best known for his current work on Justice League Unlimited and World’s Finest, will provide the interior art.
Details on the story of Batman/Deadpool are vague beyond it being equal parts cosmic horror, slapstick noir, and metafictional therapy session. It will also feature “200% More Grant Morrison-esque Grant Morrison Than Ever Before!” Given that, Wade Wilson will not be the only one breaking the fourth wall.
What team-ups are in Batman/Deadpool #1?
Beyond the main event, Batman/Deadpool #1 will feature four crossover stories with equally impressive creative teams.
- Writers Scott Snyder, James Tynion IV, and Joshua Williamson team with artist Hayden Sherman on a magical mystery starring John Constantine and Doctor Strange.
- The Eisner Award-winning team of Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo reunite to deliver a team-up between Nightwing and Laura Kinney: Wolverine.
- Harley Quinn faces Hulk in a story by writer Mariko Tamaki and artist Amanda Conner.
- Kamala Khan meets Virgil Hawkins in a story by Ms. Marvel co-creator G. Willow Wilson and Static co-creator Denys Cowan.
In addition to the four backup stories, Batman/Deadpool #1 will feature 21 variant covers. This includes a blue cardstock sketch variant, a wraparound by Dan Mora, and a foil version of Dan Mora’s main cover. All these covers can be viewed below.
Batman/Deadpool #1 arrives in comic shops everywhere on November 19, 2025.
