Early in 2025, DC and Marvel stunned the world of comics by announcing their first crossover partnership in over two decades. The two resulting books teaming various Marvel Comics and DC Comics characters were a sales success. Now, a new series will see Spider-Man in another classic team-up, headlining a new crossover anthology.
The new DC/Marvel crossover book will be titled Superman/Spider-Man #1. The main story will reunite the wall-crawler with the Man of Steel and mark the 50th anniversary of Marvel/DC partnerships. The flagship heroes first joined forces in the first crossover event between the two publishers in 1976.
The new Superman/Spider-Man team-up will be written by Mark Waid, with art by Jorge Jiménez. The story will find Clark Kent and Peter Parker investigating the same story for their respective newspapers. When they discover an unholy partnership between Brainiac and Doctor Octopus, the two heroes will join forces to save the world.
What other crossovers will Superman/Spider-Man #1 have?
Unlike the 2025 DC/Marvel crossovers, the stories in Superman/Spider-Man #1 will be family-focused. While the earlier comics featured a variety of characters, the stories in this anthology will be centered on characters associated with the flagship heroes. This will lead to some unlikely team-ups, facilitated by an all-star team of writers and artists.

- Jimmy Olsen encounters Carnage in a story by Matt Fraction and Steve Lieber.
- Sean Murphy explores the future, teaming Superboy of the Legion of Super-Heroes with Spider-Man 2099.
- Power Girl faces The Punisher in a comic by Gail Simone and Belén Ortega.
- Superboy Prime bends reality to confront Spider-Man just as he got the black suit in a story by Christopher Priest and Daniel Sampere.
- The staff of The Daily Planet and The Daily Bugle compete in a race in a story by Greg Rucka and Nicola Scott.
