Ahoy Comics has found great success with its comic book reboot of The Toxic Avenger. Unsurprisingly, they’re seeking to capitalize on the upcoming cinematic reboot starring Peter Dinklage with a summer full of Toxie comics. However, the publisher has also confirmed a line of collectible trading cards featuring the hero of Tromaville, his allies, and his enemies.
Every comic released as part of the Toxic Mess Summer event will feature a variant cover with an exclusive trading card. Each card, in turn, will feature a different Ahoy Comics character, drawn by a different artist.

Ahoy Comics is going all in on Toxic Avenger’s Toxic Mess Summer
The Toxic Mess Summer event will see a record number of Toxie comics published. It all kicks off on May 14 with the Toxic Avenger Pin-Up Special. This one-shot will feature explosive illustrations by several surprise artists.
Accordingly, this will be followed up by Toxie Team-Up #1 on June 11. This miniseries will team Tromaville’s favorite hero with an altogether different Ahoy Comics character in every issue. The first issue will introduce Toxie to Jesus from Second Coming. Later issues will find him meeting, correspondingly, with the Jersey Devil, Acid Chimp, and Dragonflyman.
Finally, Ahoy Comics will premiere a new ongoing series, The Toxic Avenger Comics. This new series launches on July 9. All of this will build to the highly anticipated release of the new Toxic Avenger movie on August 29, 2025.
“Toxic Avenger has always been a genre mashup of horror, comedy, and superhero,” said writer Matt Bors. “I wanted to lean hard onto what stories are possible with this specific character in this specific medium — comics.” Bors further promised “years of stories ahead.”
