Peter Dinklage’s Toxie Takes Center Stage in Toxic Avenger Comics #2 Covers | Exclusive

2025 is shaping up to be a big year for The Toxic Avenger. Beyond celebrating his 40th anniversary and a new hit comic, the Hero of Tromaville has inspired a big summer event. This includes a new Toxic Avenger Comics series, which boasts two impressive new covers. One of these showcases Peter Dinklage as Toxie.

The Toxic Avenger Comics reexamines the titular hero through the lens of other genres. The first issue is inspired by Golden Age horror, ala EC Comics. The second issue offers a Film Noir take on Toxie, with two-fisted tales of crime and mystery. Future issues will be based around the science fiction, romance, and fantasy genres.

New Toxic Avenger comics land ahead of reboot movie

This thematic anthology is only one of the titles Ahoy Comics is publishing in order to tie into the Toxic Avenger reboot movie. Firstly, there is a pin-up special, which will be released on May 14. Secondly, the Toxie Team-Up series pairs the Hero of Tromaville with all of Ahoy’s greatest heroes, starting on June 11. Finally, the first issue of Toxic Avenger Comics releases on July 9. All of this will be available in short order, before the release of the reboot film on August 29, 2025.

“Toxic Avenger has always been a genre mashup of horror, comedy, and superhero,” explained writer Matt Bors. “In these first five issues, we are delving into the crime rotting the heart of Tromaville, the romance between Toxie and his girlfriend Yvonne, the science fiction of mutant powers, and more. Me — and the talented artists they won’t let me announce just yet! — are adding new mutated heroes, demented villains, and horny losers to every single issue. These are characters you will see again, as we lay the groundwork for a real ongoing series with years of stories ahead.”
