Jon Kent faces a unique challenge as the son of Superman. While his famous father is vocally proud of him, the young hero still feels the weight of the world’s expectations upon him. That weight has been more of a burden than usual following the events of Absolute Power and Amanda Waller‘s efforts to make him into her puppet. Unfortunately, Jon must fight a new battle for his soul against Bizarro thanks to Waller’s machinations in Secret Six #1.

Written by Nicole Maines with art by Stephen Segovia, Secret Six #1 opens in the heat of the action. Compared to his recent battles reclaiming his mind from the Brainiac Queen, a fight with Bizarro is relatively easy. However, it appears that Jon Kent may relish facing an enemy with whom he doesn’t have to hold back a little too much.

Secret Six #1 continues Absolute Power story
The new Secret Six series spins out of the events of Absolute Power, with a new team of misfits working in the shadows of the DC Universe. The team’s makeup has changed repeatedly over time, but generally consists of disgraced heroes, antiheroes, villains seeking redemption, and the oddballs who aren’t easily classified as hero or villain. In this case, the series starts with the trio of Jon Kent, the journalist Gossamer, and alien-rights activist Dreamer.
When Dreamer has a vision of Amanda Waller escaping from prison, she turns to Jon for help. The young Superman is one of the few willing to give Dreamer the benefit of the doubt. How could he not when she saved him from the Brainiac Queen? Unfortunately, Gossamer has a not entirely unjustified grudge against Dreamer, who was indirectly involved with his mother’s death. This, in turn, leads to an unlikely alliance with Catman, Deadshot and Black Alice as a new Secret Six team.
Secret Six #1 arrives in comic shops everywhere on March 5, 2025.
