In 2015, Marvel Comics and Lucasfilm teamed to redefine the Star Wars universe. This led to a number of series which filled in the gaps between the films making up the Original Trilogy. Now, Marvel will explore new territory with the launch of a new flagship series set after Return of the Jedi.
The new series will be written by author Alex Segura. While primarily known for his mysteries, Segura has worked in the Star Wars universe before. He previously wrote the Poe Dameron: Free Fall young adult novel, as well as two comics based around the Battle of Jakku.
The artwork for the new series will be provided by superstar artist Phil Noto. He previously worked on the 2015 Chewbacca solo comic series and a 2016 Poe Dameron comic. Beyond those, Noto has also created covers for multiple Star Wars comics and books.
New Star Wars series to explore new territory

The new series will continue from the Battle of Jakku, where the New Republic defeated the last remnants of the Empire. However, the challenges facing the series’ most iconic characters are just beginning. Luke Skywalker must still take the first steps in rebuilding the Jedi Order. At the same time, Han Solo and Leia Organa continue the romance that will lead to the birth of Kylo Ren. Leia must also face new political challenges, as Han assists the covert side of the New Republic’s government.
