America’s Favorite Teenager is no stranger to horror. Indeed, Archie Comics has had a horror-themed imprint for nearly a decade. However, Archie Horror may be presenting the most disturbed take on Archie and the rest of Riverdale’s youth ever, with the Judgment Day miniseries.
Set in an alternate version of Riverdale, Judgment Day puts the young Mr. Andrews on a daring quest. The forces of Hell have invaded his town and begun infecting and changing the citizenry. With his friends corrupted or dead, Archie must find a way to cleanse the city and save the souls of those he loves. The solution may lie in claiming demonic powers for himself, but can he truly use a dark power for a righteous reason? Or will he damn himself?
Creative consultant Jesse Goldwater notes that question of whether or not Archie can “truly remain a hero through and through” lies at the core of Judgment Day. “This miniseries raises the stakes more than any title we’ve ever done before,” states Goldwater. “The fate of the entire world is in Archie’s hands.”

Judgment Day is written by Aubrey Stitterson, who previously worked on the series No One Left To Fight. The artwork is provided by Rockstars artist Megan Hutchison, with colors by Matt Herms and letters by Jack Morelli. The main cover is by Megan Hutchison, but there are also multiple variant covers. The variant covers were produced by Jae Lee, Francesco Francavilla, and Reiko Murakami.
