Exclusive: First Look At Dark Horse’s Hellboy and the B.P.R.D. Statuette Set

2019 marks the 25th anniversary of Mike Mignola’s signature creation, Hellboy. Dark Horse Comics is celebrating Hellboy Day on Saturday, March 23, to mark the publication of the first Hellboy story, Seeds of Destruction. However, the anniversary announcements are just beginning. Superhero Hype is proud to exclusively debut a new statuette set featuring Hellboy and his friends in the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense.

Dark Horse Direct is releasing the six figure Hellboy and the B.P.R.D. statuette set later this year. Yoe! Studio’s team sculpted each statutette and their appearance was inspired by the classic Syroco statues from the 1940s. The set features Hellboy, Abe Sapien, Liz Sherman, Johann Kraus, Lobster Johnson, and Roger the Homunculus. Each statuette measures 5 ½” tall and comes on a 2” base.

While the deluxe packaging for the set hasn’t been revealed, Dark Horse Direct will include a hand numbered certificate of authenticity. Additionally, the sets will only be released as a limited edition of 200. The projected release date is winter 2019. For more info, check out Dark Horse’s official site.

Dark Horse will make additional announcements as Hellboy Day approaches. However, the biggest Hellboy event of the year is coming on April 12 with the reboot film from Lionsgate. David Harbour is taking over the role of Hellboy, alongside a cast that includes Milla Jovovich, Ian McShane, Sasha Lane, Daniel Dae Kim, and Thomas Haden Church.
