UPDATE: South Park Season 27 Episode 5 was supposed to premiere on September 17, at 7 PM PT, 10 PM ET on Comedy Central. Now, it has been postponed to September 24. Series creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, have addressed the delay in a statement.
At the time of writing, plot details about Season 27 Episode 5 haven’t been teased through a summary or a teaser. In the previous episode titled “Wok is Dead,” Butters heads to buy a labubu for his girlfriend to gift her as a birthday present. While shopping, he gets hit with the harsh reality of tariffs in the nation.
Currently, South Park Season 27 follows a bi-weekly format for releasing new episodes. A Deadline report previously revealed that the episodes are taking additional time; therefore, the delays are happening. A source close to South Park producers said, “What they’re doing means this year’s episodes need more time than usual to put together, to finish.”
“So much happens right now in just one day with Trump. No one’s going to sacrifice getting it right, even if we have to push getting it to air, and if that makes the season longer, so be it,” they further added.
The source mentioned that plans could change regarding the schedule. However, for now, the show is likely to stick with a two-week gap between episodes format. This way, the show will come to an end around December 10.
