South Park Season 27 Episode 3 has been delayed, leaving fans curious to know the reason behind the delay. The beloved animated sitcom centers around four foul-mouthed friends and their misadventures in and around the titular town. Episode 2 also faced a week’s postponement due to the premiere episode’s controversy and aired last week, August 6. A new episode appears to face a similar postponement, but for a good reason. Here are the details.
Why there’s no South Park Season 27 Episode 3 tonight
South Park Season 27 Episode 3 was supposed to premiere today, August 13. However, it has now been shifted to next week, August 20, on the occasion of the show’s 28th birthday. Fan-favorite episodes will be aired on Comedy Central, starting at 9 AM ET/PT. Today marks “South Park Day” per Paramount Media Networks.
Apart from the fan-favorite episodes, the celebration will also involve never-before-seen behind-the-scenes clips and exclusive interviews with the creators of the show, Trey Parker and Matt Stone. The celebration will conclude with the very first episode of South Park from 1997.
South Park Season 1 Episode 1, titled “Cartman Gets an Anal Probe,” features the boys waiting for the school bus and hearing a story from Cartman. He reveals that he had a dream the previous night that involved aliens. The aliens kidnapped him from his bed. Kyle and Stan then made him understand that he wasn’t dreaming, but that it really happened.
Ever since the premiere of South Park Season 27, the season has been surrounded by controversy concerning the White House and President Donald Trump. Its premiere episode took a subtle jab at Paramount+ and Trump’s tumultuous lawsuit while also showing the latter in an explicit scene with Satan.
Episode 2 also followed up on the premiere episode by continuing to feature Trump having an intimate relationship with Satan. After the premiere episode controversy occurred, Episode 2 was delayed by a week and premiered on August 6. Now, as the show celebrates its birthday, a new episode faces postponement yet again. However, the good thing is that fans can revisit beloved old episodes of South Park while they wait for a new one.
