A major MCU character is rumored to be returning in Avengers: Doomsday.
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday is currently in production. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, the film is scheduled to be released in December 2026. A sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, then follows in 2027.
Who is rumored to be returning for Avengers: Doomsday?
According to scooper Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus, Samuel L. Jackson will reportedly return as Nick Fury in Avengers: Doomsday.
This is just a rumor at this time that should be taken with a grain of salt, as Marvel has not officially confirmed Jackson will star in Avengers: Doomsday. Should be truly be in the movie, it is also unclear how large of a role he will play.
Jackson’s Nick Fury officially debuted during the post-credits scene of 2008’s Iron Man. He went on to reprise that role in a number of movies and television shows, including the 2023 Secret Invasion miniseries, which he led. Following his role in 2023’s The Marvels, Jackson recently voiced animated versions of his MCU character in What If…? and Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.
