Five Actresses Up for Joseph Kosinski's Next

With Tom Cruise set to headline, Joseph Kosinksi's next project is gearing up to cast its female lead. Though it's too soon to tell who among them (if any) will secure the part, Variety is reporting that Jessica Chastain, Olga Kurylenko, Brit Marling, Noomi Rapace and Olivia Wilde are all set to audition this weekend.

The film, formerly titled Oblivion after the Radical Publishing comic book series that it's based on, also appears to have returned to its previously announced title Horizons.

The film features Cruise as a man named Jak in a future where humanity lives in the clouds, thanks to an irradiated Earth. A repairman, Jak finds a woman in a crashed ship and his whole world view comes into question.

Variety's article claims that there are two major female parts, Victoria and Julia. Victoria (Vika in the comic book) is Jak's assistant and contact on his missions while Julia is his fiancee on Earth. Who might be up for what part remains to be seen.
