Marvel Contest of Champions Brings Back John Mulaney As Spider-Ham

John Mulaney’s performance as Spider-Ham in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse generated a lot of new interest in Peter Parker’s pointy-eared counterpart from another dimension. The jury’s still out on whether he will return for the upcoming sequel. But fortunately, Mulaney has been presented with a new opportunity to play the very unusual superhero in Marvel Contest of Champions. The hit mobile game will add Spider-Ham to its ranks next month, with Mulaney once again providing his voice.

The developers behind Contest of Champions announced Mulaney’s involvement with a new motion comic titled Back on the Air. The two-minute short finds Peter Porker stumbling upon a commercial advertising the chance to join the cast of a Saturday morning cartoon. Unfortunately for him, the ad is a ruse cooked up by Mojo, best known for his entanglements with the X-Men. The motion comic also shows Spider-Ham tussling with Venom, Ultron, and other villains.

From December 7 to December 31, new players can download a 2-Star Spider-Ham at no extra cost. Additionally, they can snag a free digital copy of Spider-Ham #1 from December 1 until December 31. Aside from the regular “Framed by Fame” Event Quest, gamers can try “John Mulaney’s Champion Challenge” as well. This challenge will pit fans against several villains chosen by Mulaney himself.
