Terminator: Resistance Announcement Trailer Takes the Fight To Skynet

The Terminator is coming back in video games. Reef Entertainment has announced that it will release Terminator: Resistance on consoles and PC with a teaser trailer. Rather than tying in with the upcoming Terminator: Dark Fate, Resistance is going to follow a different path.

“It features an original storyline based on the film rights to legendary motion pictures The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day,” noted in Reef Entertainment in its press release. “It takes place in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles, nearly 30 years after Judgment Day, and expands upon the Future War glimpsed at in the iconic films from James Cameron.”

Terminator: Resistance also debuts a new protagonist named Jacob Rivers. He’s a member of the human resistance who is sent on a crucial mission to turn the tide back in its favor. There are also a number of other characters in the story as well to help Jacob during his first-person adventure.

Sarah Connor and the T-800 were recently introduced as playable characters in Microsoft’s Gears 5. Additionally, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s classic Terminator will appear in Mortal Kombat 11 as a playable character.

Terminator: Resistance brings the franchise back to gaming consoles and PC for the first time in ten years. The last game to bear the Terminator name was based on the Salvation movie, which came out back in 2009.

Reef Entertainment will release Terminator: Resistance on December 3 in the U.S. But it will arrive in Europe and Australia a bit earlier, on November 15.
