EA Releases Extensive Gameplay Video For Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Last month, Electronic Arts debuted the first gameplay footage for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The 16 minute demo packs on sheer intensity, as newcomer Padawan Cal Kestis cleans house with his Force powers. But today, the developers at Respawn Entertainment followed up with even more footage from the forthcoming adventure, adding 10 minutes of new footage.

Originally shown behind closed doors to select press at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, the game’s director, Stig Asmussen, talked about the new footage in a blog post. “We spent months going back and forth discussing the best strategy to release this content, and ultimately decided for the first-look, it was critical to present a focused 15 minutes of raw, in-game footage highlighting lightsaber gameplay that speaks to the Jedi fantasy in an empowering way,” he explained. “This is a lot to describe in 15 minutes of gameplay. Getting hands on the full 25 minute experience is best to completely understand it.”

Most of the footage will look familiar to those who saw the previous video. However, the new footage demonstrates some of Cal’s powers in a little more detail. There’s also more shown from the side characters as well, including fan favorite Saw Gerrera.

The new footage also demonstrates just how far Cal will be able to explore within the Star Wars universe.

“The game will feature several planets that the player can elect to travel to via starship,” explained Asmussen. “On these worlds unique abilities and upgrades can be found that open up new paths across other planets, making retraversal an essential part of the gameplay experience.”

Fans will also be able to build items that will prove beneficial to Cal over the course of his journey. Asmussen refers to this as a crucial “Star Wars moment.”

Fans can check out the full 26-minute demo for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order below. The game arrives on November 15 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
