Nicholas Hoult has reportedly joined the cast of Season 2 of the Harry Potter TV show in the role of Gilderoy Lockhart. Professor Lockhart was previously brought to life on the big screen by actor Kenneth Branagh in the movie Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

Fans took over X (formerly Twitter) to comment on the latest casting announcement related to the Harry Potter TV show. Deadline recently reported that Superman star Nicholas Hoult is all set to play the role of the villain Gilderoy Lockhart in Season 2 of the Harry Potter TV show. HBO renewed the series for Season 2 in May, with its first season debuting on December 25 this year.

Hoult’s casting as Lockhart has drawn numerous reactions, and most fans are excited to see the actor portray the character. A user named Maeve McLaughlin showed confidence in Hoult and wrote, “He’s a good actor, he’ll deliver.”

Another user seemed intrigued to witness Hoult as the fraud Lockhart and stated, “Oh my good I am digging this casting.”

User Flores asserted that Hoult’s casting as the “vain, insecure, fraud” character is “perfect.” They added, “The man can do pompous and pathetic in one breath and lockhart needs exactly that.”
