Wonder Man Teaser Trailer Sees Yahya Abdul-Mateen II Explore His Superpowers

A new teaser trailer for Wonder Man has been released.

What happens in the Wonder Man teaser trailer?

In the teaser trailer, Abdul-Mateen plays an actor who wants to play the lead in a new superhero movie, Wonder Man, that a celebrated director named Von Kovak (Zlatko Burić) is making. At one point near the end of the video, Trevor and Simon are sitting in a restaurant and Simon makes a glass sitting on the table move without touching it.

The teaser then ends with Simon being told he needs to sign a form to confirm that he doesn’t have any superpowers, which he appears to be conflicted about.

Abdul-Mateen told a crowd at New York Comic Con 2025, via Marvel, about playing this role in Wonder Man, “As an actor, there’s so much that goes into it. There’s vulnerability, there’s ego, there’s hopes and dreams, there’s ambition, there’s the lonely road. As Simon, I get to walk that fine line and experience all of that. I’m really excited to share Simon’s journey towards achieving his dream.”

Kingsley also said about reprising his Marvel role and about how the show is a love letter to Los Angeles, “LA is emblematic of people’s dreams in this whole wonderful entertainment industry. So, we were constantly fed by that wonderful working environment. It was a great gift to film it. We were amongst all these iconic echoes of the great Hollywood years, which are still perpetuated now.”

Marvel Studios’ Wonder Man will premiere on Disney+ on January 27, 2026. The show will have eight episodes in total.
