Dominique Thorne is currently celebrating the launch of Ironheart on Disney+, and in a new video, she chats with the original Iron Man himself.
What did Robert Downey Jr. say in new video?
In a new Instagram video, Thorne receives a FaceTime video from Downey. After wishing his late father a happy birthday, Downey praises Thorne for the premiere of Ironheart, which is airing 17 years following Iron Man, kicking off the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The wholesome back-and-forth sees Downey — who is set to play Doctor Doom in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday — say he is “so psyched” the pair are now intertwined and has grown fond of Thorne over the years. Check it out below:
Ironheart is led by Thorne, who reprises her role as Riri Williams in the MCU. Alongside Thorne, Ironheart also stars Anthony Ramos, Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Manny Montana, Matthew Elam, and Anji White. The series is created by Chinaka Hodge.

The synopsis for Ironheart reads, “Set after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Marvel Television’s Ironheart pits technology against magic when Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne)—a young, genius inventor determined to make her mark on the world—returns to her hometown of Chicago. Her unique take on building iron suits is brilliant, but in pursuit of her ambitions, she finds herself wrapped up with the mysterious yet charming Parker Robbins aka The Hood (Anthony Ramos).”
