What If…? Season 2: Marvel Releases Plot Details for 2 Episodes

Marvel Studios has released official episode synopses for two episodes of What If…? Season 2.

The Season 2 opener, titled “What If… Nebula Joined the Nova Corps?,” is set in “a world where Ronan deposes Thanos long before the events of Infinity War,” following Nebula as she is “recruited to join the Nova Corps. Desperate to escape her father’s shadow, she sets out to prove her detective chops.”

The synopsis for the third episode, “What If Happy Hogan Saved Christmas?,” was also released and reads as follows: “When Justin Hammer lays siege to Avengers Tower during the annual holiday party, there’s only one person left on site to stop him — Happy Hogan. But in setting out to prove his hero chops, Iron Man’s errand boy may end up transforming himself in more ways than one.”

While official synopses have not been revealed for the remaining seven episodes, Marvel previously revealed that Season 2 would have an episode continuing the adventures of Captain Carter, as well as one that will introduce an original character named Kahhori, who discovers the Tesseract in pre-colonial America.

What If…? continues to explore the MCU Multiverse

What If…?, the first animated series from Marvel Studios, explores major moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe unfolding differently, such as Peggy Carter taking the Super Soldier Serum instead of Steve Rogers or T’Challa becoming Star-Lord instead of Peter Quill. The first season, consisting of nine episodes, premiered on Disney+ in August 2021.

What If…? Season 2 premieres on Disney+ on December 22, 2023, with new episodes dropping daily on the streamer until December 30, 2023. A third season, as well as a spinoff series based on the Season 1 episode, “What If… Zombies?!,” are also in development.
