Gargoyles: NECA Debuts Lexington Figure With Stop-Motion Battle

NECA‘s line of Gargoyles action figures have been engaging in bite-sized but epic new adventures via stop-motion animations. The latest one introduces Lexington, the smallest gargoyle and the newest character to get a toy of his own.

The video, shared on X (formerly Twitter) on the DGDX Animation account, uses all of the NECA Gargoyles figures that have been released so far. Lexington joins Goliath, Bronx, Hudson, Broadway and Brooklyn in a battle against David Xanatos, the ambitious human billionaire who serves as the primary antagonist of the series. On Xanatos’ side is his gargoyle ally Demona and one of the robotic “Steel Clan” gargoyles that he invented.

Along with the accessories and interchangeable faces and hands included with each Gargoyles figure, the stop-motion battle shows off Lexington’s flexible wings, a feature unique to his action figure.

The spell has broken, and Disney’s Gargoyles live again

Gargoyles is an animated Disney series, created by Greg Weisman, which originally aired from 1994 to 1997. The show was targeted at young adults and focused on a clan of gargoyles, monstrous but benevolent creatures from medieval Scotland who turn to stone in the day. After being frozen in stone for one thousand years, the gargoyles are revived in modern-day Manhattan and choose to protect the human friends that they find there.

The series was a moderate success during its initial run and has since developed a cult following. In addition to NECA’s line of Gargoyles figures, the franchise has recently continued its sequel series of comic books, written by Weisman himself. A live-action TV adaptation for Disney+ has also been announced, with Gary Dauberman attached as writer, executive producer, and showrunner.

All three seasons of the original Gargoyles animated series are currently streaming on Disney+. The TV reboot does not yet have a release window.
