Neve Campbell Joins the Cast of Peacock’s Twisted Metal Series

Twisted Metal is adding a legendary scream queen to its ranks. According to Deadline, Neve Campbell has been cast in the upcoming Peacock series as Raven, a character from the original Twisted Metal video games.

Raven made her first appearance in Twisted Metal: Black in 2001. The character was introduced as a gothic teenager whose best friend, Kelly, drowned after being thrown off a pier by school bullies. Raven’s parents blamed her for the incident and sent her to an asylum, where she cuts Kelly’s name into her arm and fantasizes about getting revenge on her killers. When Calypso, the creator of the Twisted Metal competition, arrives and offers Raven the chance for vengeance, she accepts and enters the contest with her own vehicle: a hearse she calls Shadow.

In 2008, Raven also appeared in Twisted Metal: Lost, a series of bonus levels included in Twisted Metal: Head-On: Extra Twisted Edition. These levels were originally going to show up in a sequel to Twisted Metal: Black before it was ultimately cancelled.

Campbell is widely known for playing Sidney Prescott in the Scream franchise. She reprised this role in the series’ fifth installment earlier this year. However, it’s still not clear if she’s coming back for Scream 6 in 2023. Campbell also plays a leading role in Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer, which premiered earlier this month.

Anthony Mackie is headlining Twisted Metal as John Doe, a fast-talking milkman who makes deliveries across a post-apocalyptic United States. So far, the supporting cast also includes Stephanie Beatriz as Quiet and Thomas Haden Church as Agent Stone. Michael Jonathan Smith is showrunning the series from an original concept by Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

Peacock still hasn’t announced a release date for Twisted Metal.
