Stranger Things Season 4 Trailer Hints at a New Big Bad

In a season where our lead chracters go on a journey that has taken them their separate ways, the new trailer features…”Separate Ways,” by Journey. Sometimes Stranger Things can be very on-the-nose. But it’s also an unwritten law that everything set in the ’80s will eventually play Journey. So it’s all about how they’re used. Slow and creepy? Why not. It sets the tone for the horror and the retro of it all in the Stranger Things season 4 trailer.

More importantly, in the beginning moments, a new creature opens its eyes. At the end we see the thing. In all likelihood it’s what’s narrating the trailer. In absolute certainty, it’ll be all over merchandise by Christmas. Watch the trailer below:

We can’t know if this shows a representative sample of the whole series, but there will clearly be at least one major flashback to young Eleven. In the current timeline, she’s depowered, but she may have to get that mojo back fast. Which may or may not be harder than Hopper escaping a Siberian gulag. And has Max learned how to levitate?

The Duffer brothers recently teased major revelations, and that new creepy figure looks like a big part of that. We’l all get a look starting May 27 on Netflix.
