According to HBO Max’s official breakdown, season 3 “opens on the culmination of Dorothy’s (Abigail Shapiro) confrontation with the Candlemaker that leads to a devastating loss. The Doom Patrol is at a difficult crossroads and each member struggles to face who they are and who they want to be. And things get a whole lot more complicated when Madame Rouge (Michelle Gomez) arrives in a time machine with a very specific mission, if only she could remember it.”
Madame Rouge isn’t the only new character entering the fray this year. Season 3 will also introduce the Sisterhood of Dada, which gets a mention in the preview. Viewers will also meet the Dead Boy Detective Agency, with Ty Tennant and Sebastian Croft playing Edwin Payne and Charles Rowland. These two characters will also work alongside Crystal Palace, as played by Madalyn Horcher.
The first three episodes of Doom Patrol season 3 will be available to stream on September 23. The remaining episodes will debut on HBO Max on a weekly basis.
