It appears that this year’s San Diego Comic-Con@Home will have its fair share of Star Trek content. Via Deadline, Paramount has announced two panels that should break some news on the historic sci-fi franchise. The animated shows will be the focus of the panels which go down on Friday, July 23, kicking off a block of Paramount Plus animation presentations. The Trek panels will feature cast and producers from Star Trek: Prodigy and Star Trek: Lower Decks. Lower Decks‘ Jerry O’Connell will moderate both conversations.
The voice cast of Star Trek: Prodigy includes Kate Mulgrew, Brett Gray, Ella Purnell, Angus Imrie, Rylee Alazraqui, Dee Bradley Baker and Jason Mantzoukas. They will appear together with executive producers Kevin Hageman and Dan Hageman and director/co-executive producer Ben Hibon.
The panel will also feature Lower Decks representatives in Tawny Newsome, Jack Quaid and Eugene Cordero. They will join the conversation together with cretaor Mike McMahan. During the panel, we can expect an extended look at Season 2.
The official description of Star Trek: Prodigy reads:
“From Kevin and Dan Hageman, Prodigy follows a motley crew of young aliens who must figure out how to work together while navigating a greater galaxy, in search for a better future. These six young outcasts know nothing about the ship they have commandeered, but over the course of their adventures together, they will each be introduced to Starfleet and the ideals it represents.”
More Paramount Plus panels are expected to be revealed in the next few days.
