Less than a month after revealing the first footage from Masters of the Universe: Revelation, Netflix has surprise-released a new full-length trailer for the highly-anticipated follow-up to the classic Filmation series. Whereas the original teaser mainly gave us a montage of action shots, this latest preview actually sets up the show’s premise. Check it out for yourself below.
As the mysterious narrator explains, magic has been the lifeblood of Eternia since it was willed into existence. However, something is causing that magic to fade away, which threatens all life in the universe. That’s where He-Man comes in, and thankfully, he’s not alone. The muscle-bound hero will rise to the occasion with help from his allies in the Guardians of Grayskull. And of course, he and his teammates will once again find themselves in the crosshairs of Skeletor.
Chris Wood is headlining the series as the new voice of Prince Adam/He-Man. He leads a voice cast that also includes Sarah Michelle Gellar as Teela, Lena Headey as Evil-Lyn, and Mark Hamill as Skeletor. Plus, Netflix has just confirmed the addition of Dennis Haysbert as King Grayskull, Adam Gifford as Vikor, and Jay Tavare as Wundar. The show also features the voice talents of Stephen Root, Alicia Silverstone, Justin Long, Jason Mewes, Tony Todd, and more.
Masters of the Universe: Revelation Part 1 will debut on Netflix on July 23. The streamer is also planning to air an aftershow hosted by showrunner Kevin Smith and featuring a handful of the show’s stars.
