James Gunn Is Already Saving a Character For Potential Peacemaker Season 2

James Gunn Is Saving a Character For Potential Peacemaker Season 2

This August, John Cena will make his debut as Peacemaker in The Suicide Squad. Regardless, HBO Max didn’t waste any time ordering a Peacemaker solo series for early 2022. While it’s currently unknown if Peacemaker will get more than one season, series creator James Gunn is at least thinking about it. In a recent post on Twitter, Gunn was asked if he was forced to cut any characters from the show. Gunn’s response indicated that there was someone who was left out. However, he’s saving this particular character “for season two.”

But don’t get too excited just yet. Gunn followed his initial Tweet with a message reiterating that Peacemaker season 2 is not a go. At least not yet.

The Peacemaker series will explore the title character’s origin and take place before The Suicide Squad. Steve Agee is also reprising his role from The Suicide Squad as Belle Reve Warden John Economos. Danielle Brooks will play Leota Adebayo, with Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, and Chris Conrad as Adrian Chase/Vigilante.

Additionally, Nhut Le will play Judomaster, alongside Chukwudi Iwuji as Clemson Murn, Lochlyn Munro as Larry Fitzgibbon, Annie Chang as Detective Sophie Song, Christopher Heyerdahl as Captain Locke, Elizabeth Faith Ludlow as Keeya, and Rizwan Manji as Jamil.

Peacemaker will debut on HBO Max in January 2022.
