James Gunn Assembles the Cast of Peacemaker In New BTS Photos

Filming during a pandemic can’t be easy. But if the latest behind-the-scenes photos from Peacemaker are any indication, it can still be a good time. Earlier today, James Gunn took to Twitter to post a few shots from the set of his upcoming HBO Max series that showcases its cast. You can check them out for yourself below.

The series is a prequel to the events of The Suicide Squad and it will take a closer look at John Cena’s titlular antihero. Cena appears prominently in all of Gunn’s new photos. He’s also joined by Steve Agee and Jennifer Holland, both of whom are also reprising their roles from The Suicide Squad as John Economos and Emilia Harcourt, respectively.

Additionally, the new images feature cast members who will be making their DCEU debut on Peacemaker. Danielle Brooks (Leota Adebayo), Chris Conrad (The Vigilante), and Chukwudi Iwuji (Clemson Murn) all appear. However, not everyone could squeeze into these latest group shots. Some of the more notable absences include Robert Patrick (Auggie Smith) and Nhut Le (Judomaster).

Production on Peacemaker finally kicked off last month in Vancouver. Gunn wrote all eight episodes of the series during quarantine and is also directing a few episodes as well, including the pilot.

Peacemaker will debut on HBO Max in January 2022.
