Tim Burton Will Direct a Wednesday Addams Live-Action Series For Netflix

Last fall, word broke that Tim Burton was developing a new take on The Addams Family for television. Now, the project is officially going forward at Netflix. However, only one member of the famously macabre family will be featured.

Netflix has announced that Burton will direct and executive produce Wednesday, a new live-action series that puts the spotlight on Wednesday Addams. Al Gough and Miles Millar will be the showrunners on the series . Gough and Millar previously developed Smallville for The WB, and created Into the Badlands for AMC.

The new series will follow Wednesday as a young adult while attending Nevermore Academy. However, there may still be plans for her family to appear. The premise for the series involves a mystery that dates back 25 years.
